Up early this morning. Through the bedroom window the day looked as if it would be bright and clear. Such a change to yesterday's wet and windy weather. Paul had an early dental appointment but he was home by 10a.m. so we decided to go out and about to make the most of the morning.
First port of call the Emma Bridgewater factory shop for a coffee and a mooch around.
Beautiful red crab apples in the courtyard.
Inside the shop it's Christmas already.
We drove towards home and diverted a little to visit Park Hall Country Park.
We followed the paths towards the pine woods
Above buzzards were whirling and mewling. There were three of them but I only managed to catch two in the photo. I didn't expect to get any.
The views were wonderful.
Across both countryside and farmland.
Lots of fungus, or is it fungi, to be spotted.
Fly Agaric most of them had had their tops knocked off.
We passed a few people walking dogs. Others just out like us to enjoy the better weather.
Ferns

The views are wonderful being able to see so far into the distance. It is sad to see the blackened tree. It is good that the weather stayed dry enough to have some time in the county park. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, the views are good even though it's still in the city. It used to be a quarry. I think rain is coming again today:)
DeleteWhat a lovely day out - with a bit of everything and blue sky too
ReplyDeleteYes,it was a real treat and both places not very far from home:)
DeleteLovely to be able to go to the Emma Bridgwater shop - I have a few of her mugs and they are lovely. It looks a wonderful walk with stunning views - weather so much better today as you say.
ReplyDeleteI love the shop and the cafe too. It's always a treat to pop up there as there are so many lovely things to see. The country park used to be a quarry site and is now managed by the local council:)
DeleteI’m very envious of all your different types of fungi. I love the red ones. That coffee stop sounds like somewhere I’d enjoy. B x
ReplyDeleteWe've seen such a lot of fungi this year. It's obviously been a good year for it. Coffee shop is great everything served in and on their own pottery, my mug yesterday had dinosaurs on it, Paul's cats. Should have been the other way round:)
DeleteWhat a lovely day out and so much to see with big birds, fungi & wonderful views. Christmassy things are starting to appear over here too. The burnt trees are so reminiscent of what we see after a scorching summer, though this one is predicted to be very wet on the eastern side of Oz. Take care & hugs.
ReplyDeleteIt was a lovely day, I love to hear the buzzards overhead, such a distinctive sound. The factory produces some lovely festive pottery. We have a couple of red star plates that grace the table at Christmas:)
DeleteA lovely landscape to be in.
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed, man made site from an old quarry works:)
DeleteIt's good to get out and about especially when you can find shops where you can browse and countryside places where you can walk and observe wildlife.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda, yes it's good to do both for contrast on the same day:)
