Every year we try to visit the Dorothy Clive Garden which is just a few miles away from here on the Shropshire/Cheshire border. We visited in the warmth of the sun earlier this week and were greeted by some of the most beautiful scenes. Are you ready? Let's go into the garden........
First we see the white borders
and the mauve ones
but this is the part of the garden we are headed for because at this time of year it is nothing short of spectacular
Just a riot of colour
as far as the eye can see
The views up here over the surrounding countryside are wonderful too
Can anything be more spectacular than the quarry garden? Well, perhaps it can!
The laburnum walk is pretty breathtaking too
down to the pond
and we are back near the start again.
Lovely colours in the garden and the views look good too. I get a 2 for 1 voucher for this place every year but we've still not visited!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you would enjoy it especially the views from the top of the quarry. I think you can only use the 2for1 vouchers later in the year. The ones we have had couldn't be used in May and June which is the time of their azelea and rhododendron seaason, we hadn't seen the garden at this time of year for a while so went without a 2for1 this year:)
DeleteThank you for taking me on a lovely tour of the garden, Isn't June wonderful!
ReplyDeleteKathy x
It is a lovely time of year and this garden is at its most spectacular then although it is beautiful in all seasons:)
DeleteThat is truly a very beautiful garden. What colour! xxxx
ReplyDeleteThe colour is quite spectacular and you find yourself going round corners and saying 'Wow' a lot - it is hard to describe the warm enclosed feeling you get down in the quarry amongst the trees - it is very calming:)
DeleteOh wow! The laburnum walk is just stunning.
ReplyDeleteIt was very beautiful and quite long - it had a wonderful glowing warmth under there:)
DeleteJust stunning.
ReplyDeleteOh, to be able to grow white alliums!
xo
As much as I enjoyed the colour I have to say the white borders were my absolute favourite part of the garden:)
DeleteI've been wondering where I could find a laburnum walk not too far away. I'll have to check out the distance and see if it's workable.
ReplyDeleteThe garden looks magnificent and I've not heard of it before. Thank you for showing it to us.
It is at its best now and well worth a visit and the laburnam walk is stunning. Bridgemere Garden World is just a little further up the same road, too:)
DeleteThat garden is wonderful with all the colour and I would love a white border like that!

DeleteThank you for the walk through that beautiful garden. It would be marvelous to sit a while on the bench under the trees and listen to the birdsong and smell the fragrance of the garden too. A feast for the eyes!
ReplyDeleteHello Sara, thanks for visiting. We sat on the bench for a while and the scent from some of the azeleas was wonderful:)

ReplyDeleteThanks, Ruth - it was a lovely day to visit, sunny but quiet and peaceful:)
DeleteWow, wow, wow! Totally breathtaking, I would so love to visit there to see those amazing colours. It's when I see places like this to visit that I do regret not having a car. x
ReplyDeleteIt is a bit out of the way and you do need a car - the only bus I know that comes close, but still quite a walk along a busy road, is the Shrewsbury to Stoke-on-Trent bus which passes through Market Drayton:)
DeleteThat was wonderful Rosie! A feast for the eyes and food for the soul!!! A riot of colour - lovely to see at this time of year. x
ReplyDeleteThere was something wonderful around every corner and it certainly did lift the spirits:)
DeleteWonderful post Rosie - that laburnam walk is stunning - oh for a garden big enough to have something like that (sigh)
ReplyDeleteIt was so beautiful walking under the laburnam walk - warm and enclosed - I can't really describe it:)
