This morning we visited the wonderful Little Moreton Hall in Cheshire where they had events and activities to celebrate Midsummer in the way of the Tudors.
It was lovely to get out and about after a couple of days at home clearing up the garden after the flash flood.
Although it wasn't very sunny it wasn't cold and the light was perfect for photos. I had expected it might be crowded on a Sunday but it wasn't.
I'll let the photos speak for themselves.
as I've taken you here so many times before.
There were lots of activities on offer. The children were making hobby horses and there were lots of guided tours.
The volunteers here are very knowlegeable and enthusiastic.
Inside the tent the Dragon awaits his big moment in the parade.
Not too many photos of the parade as there were many children with their hobby horses.
I loved the summery bunting in the trees
The knot garden was looking lovely too
Below a collage of some of the things we spotted inside.
There was plenty of wildlife around in the garden and by the moat and I'll feature some over on 30 Days Wild.
That sounds like a brilliant day!
ReplyDeleteIt was:)
DeleteSuch a lovely day. I love the sun faces on the bunting! I didn't realise that you had taken part in 30 days wild again. I will have to go over to the blog and have a look there. x
ReplyDeleteI haven't registered for 30 days Wild this time I just thought I'd see if I coud do something each day, as I didn't feel I could commit to anything more. I love the bunting too:)
DeleteIt's years since I visited Little Moreton Hall, it's a lovely place and it's time I went again I think.

ReplyDeleteI hope you can visit one day, Janet. I'm sure you will love it:)
DeleteWhat a beautiful Tudor building, it looks a wonderful place to visit. I hope your garden is not suffering more flooding with all this rain we are having at the moment. xx
ReplyDeleteThe garden is very wet but not more water running though it thank goodness. We just need a few days of sunshine to dry it out:)
DeleteWhat an interesting looking building. I wonder why it is called 'Little' Moreton Hall. The moat and the knot garden do give it a sense of history - it must be a lovely place to wander around.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure! It used to be called Old Moreton Hall too as there is a newer one not far away which I think is used a a business venue. As the newer one is bigger perhaps the older one was called Little? It is a lovely place to visit:)
DeleteI love that place! Thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteAlways worth a re-visit especially when they have the Tudor events:)
