I completely missed week 39 mainly because I ran out of time getting ready to go away for a few days. I'm back now from a week in Wales where we had mostly dry weather and the wet weather we did have was conveniently in the early mornings or overnight. I'll get around to visiting all your blogs soon to see what I've missed whilst I've been away. Memories of the things I've seen during the last week flash through my mind like a slide show and it's been hard to pick just four 'happy' memories but here they are.
2. Wildlife above - Curlew at the edge of the shoreline at Llanbedrog beach, and below
Wild Goats - on the path down to the beach at Nant Gwyrtheyrn. We saw about five of them but the one above was most interested in us and paused to pose for a photo.
3. Buildings - above - Tu Hwnt Ir Bont (Beyond the Bridge) tearooms in Llanrwst, below......
The Old Mill at Bodnant Gardens and
the Penlan Fawr Inn at Pwllheli
4. Beastly Machines - an exhibition by Johnny White at Bodelwyddan Castle - above Canoodling Canoe Gnus - below
Lifecycle of a Mosquito
Thrush Hour
In the Dog House
there were lots of other exhibits in this fascinating exhibition - we had great fun setting them all in motion.
Linking up with Little Birdie where '52 weeks of Happy' started. Each week you find just four things that have made you happy to share.

Welcome back.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful week you've had. I love the curlew and the goats and would love to visit Bodnant. Look forward to more posts from Wales!
Bodnant is a lovely garden and well worth a visit:)
DeleteLucky you going to that part of Wales and you had quite good weather too! I love the goat
ReplyDeleteXxxx
Isn't it a most beautiful area of Wales?:)
DeleteGreat to have days without rain in Wales. Those beast machines are fascinating!
ReplyDeleteThose machines were fab, I really enjoyed that exhibition. We were very lucky with the rain but we did plan our trips around it if we could:)
DeleteAha! Beauty AND beasts! Love the Welsh countryside.
ReplyDelete'Chuckle' - I hadn't thought of that! Yes, Wales is very beautiful I always look forward to visits there:)
DeleteI've had tea in the tea room by the bridge at Llanwrst many times. They've been flooded out there a few times too.
ReplyDeleteHow lucky you are - I'd have loved to have gone inside but we were just passing through and stopping for a leg-stretch we also had a flask full of coffee we'd made for the journey home. I bet they do have to watch that river when the days are wet:)
DeleteYou had a good week in Wales. I'm envious of you seeing that curlew on the shoreline! The beast machines look like great fun to activate.
ReplyDeleteIt was wonderful to see the Curlew - we heard its distinctive cry first. Those machines were great fun:)
DeleteHope you had a lovely week in Wales! The beaches are wonderful and I love the Curlew. The teashop looks idyllic, but I imagine that you would have to keep an eye on that river!
ReplyDeleteWe had a wonderful week, I love the beaches on the Llyn peninsula there ae so many lovely ones to chose from. I'd have loved to have visited the tea shop - perhaps on our next visit:)
DeleteSuch pretty tearooms and a lovely Curlew. A delightful post Rosie full of lovely happy things. x
ReplyDeleteThanks Simone, we had a lovely time and it was an extra bonus to see the Curlew:)
DeleteI'm so glad you had a good week in Wales, as did we. I do so love Wales. You've got some lovely photos here. x
ReplyDeleteWales is very special isn't it? We had a super time:)
DeleteLoved the beastly machines, what fun!
ReplyDeleteJanet, they were great fun we spent ages pressing the buttons - good job we had the place to ourselves for a while as we were like kids in a sweet shop:)
DeleteGreat shots, you certainly get to see some great sights.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Wales is very beautiful and there seems to be a wonderful view around each corner:)
DeleteSo glad you enjoyed your break and took some great photos. That house covered in the red leaves (I can't remember the plant name off hand) I think I've seen it before - it seems to be quite famous for autumnal photographs.
ReplyDeleteI think it's possibly Boston Ivy?
DeleteYes, I think it is:)
DeleteI'm glad you've had a good week. 'Thrush Hour' is definitely my favourite! Jx
ReplyDeleteThrush hour is great isn't it? There was another bird one as well as the Owl and the Pussycat:)
DeleteWjhat a great time you must have had- love all the beach shots. The animal machinery is brilliant- made me smile too!
ReplyDeleteWe did have a lovely time and the exhibition was great fun:)
DeleteThe beastly machines are great - especially the gnus and ducks. I see the gnus even have a gnu on the figurehead of their canoe (a la viking longboat)
ReplyDeleteI liked the gnus too! I thought they were very clever but then of course I had the Flanders and Swan song 'I'm a gnu' in my head for ages:)
