I'm short of inspiration for blog posts at the moment as I must admit I'm feeling unwell and slightly out of kilter. It has been such a grey, dismal week weather wise and I haven't had the energy to do very much at all.
So I thought I'd show you a few photos I took the week before last when we visited Buxton Pavilion.
The flowers were in the hot house or conservatory at the Pavilion and were so pretty and cheerful.
I thought I'd share them with you on this grey, wet and rainy day - well it is here anyway. I'm sure some of you will be having far worse weather wherever you are in the world. One thing about today is that it doesn't feel particularly cold - yet!
It was lovely and warm in the hot house and people were just wandering around taking in the colour of the flowers and sheltering from the cold outside.
I loved the pattern on these leave. I think it is a Maranta or prayer plant. Of course there were other things in the hot house as you'll have seen from my last post where there is a link to the artists website.
They were attracting quite a lot of attention too!
I hope that wherever you are you are having a lovely weekend.

The flowers are so vibrant and pretty. I have a prayer plant that is now 38 years old.
ReplyDeleteGosh, that must be a huge plant by now, how wonderful to have kept it so long:)
DeleteSometime we need to see a bit of colour at this time of year. Snowing here but not sticking so not even that is cheering!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon and get back to feeling yourself.

Thanks, Lyn, I hope so too. We have snow again this morning:)
DeleteFirstly, we hope you start to feel fuller fit again soon... being out of kilter isn't nice. Secondly, we adored your flower shots.. lifted our spirits amongst all this rain... and gray.... Thanks for taking time to leave us a comment. Love Helen, Darcy and Bingley xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you - glad you enjoyed the flowers, yesterday was so grey - now it is white again:)
DeleteThank you for such a cheerful post!
ReplyDeleteAfter a weird Winter storm and a blizzard last night, we're now having a sunny break, but snow is forecast for tomorrow.. enjoying colourful Primroses and scented Hyacinths :)
Have a lovely week!
x
Sounds like your weather is as crazy as ours, Michela. Hope you too have a lovely week:)
DeleteThe weather is definitely not helping, we need some sun. Hope you feel more with it soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope so too, Amanda. A little sun would be just the thing - I see it is white again outside this morning:)
DeleteLovely, cheering flower pics! We too have a bug here - very draining. And grey and wet and miserable weather today:( Roll on Spring! x
ReplyDeleteWasn't it grey and dull yesterday and now snow again today - thank goodness spring is on the way, I hope:)
DeleteThank you for sharing the colourful flowers in Buxton Pavilion which is a place we have enjoyed going to in the past and doesn't disappoint. I hope you feel a lot better soon.
ReplyDeleteThere is so much to enjoy at the Pavilion and I always love the hot house:)
DeleteA lovely colourful post. I am stuck indoors trying to work on what I need to have ready for Wednesday, I'm so fed up, but I'm glad the weather is bad so at least I'm not missing out on a good walking day!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling better very soon.
Thanks, Louise! Hope all goes well on Wednesday and hope the snow goes away for then. No chance of walking yesterday at all, it didn't stop raining until it started snowing:)
DeleteRosie, I could almost smell the hyacinth!
ReplyDeletePlease feel better soon. Perhaps a full sunny day would do you good!
Sis
A sunny day would help, Sissy. The scent of the hyacinths filled the whole place it was lovely:)
DeleteIt is difficult to get motivated at the moment, and easy to feel low on such a miserable day.
ReplyDeleteI think you're right about the Maranta. I had one for years, I think the mealy bugs got it in the end.
Hope you feel much brighter soon Rosie, Jx
Thanks, Jessica. I thought the leaves on the Maranta were so attractive. It is hard to see Spring coming at the moment but I'm sure it is on its way:)
DeleteI am sorry you are feeling unwell Rosie. The weather here is absolutely rotten at the moment. The conservatory roof is leaking in about 4 places and last night my son called out to me as water was coming in through his bedroom ceiling. The house feels saturated and we are not having enough dry spells for it all to dry out! Thank you for sharing the hot house flower pictures as I am living in a horrible damp house at the moment! Hopefully we will all be feeling better in a few weeks time. Take care. x
ReplyDeleteOh, Simone! I know what you mean about the leaky conservatory as our old one was like that for a few years before we could afford to replace it last year. Hope things improve soon, some dryer weather would help to dry us all out:)
DeleteIt's lovely to see some spring colours. I hope that you soon feel better. Jx
ReplyDeleteThanks Jan, Spring flowers are always cheering aren't they?:)
DeleteLove the flowers - some of our snow is finally melting.
ReplyDeleteWe have snow again this morning, nothing like as bad as you have over there but I'm so glad I don't have to go out in it:)
DeleteLovely flowers. Thanks for sharing the photos & I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lyn - the flowers were very pretty:)
DeleteHope you're feeling better Rosie. Your photos are lovely. We've just had another snowfall which has come out of the blue. Thought Spring was on it's way!
ReplyDeletePatricia x
Spring is there somewhere, Patricia waiting around the corner! We too have snow again this morning after all the rain of yesterday:)
DeleteWe Virgo's need putting in a bag and shaking up I think! Perhaps our health problems are Lunar!!! Anyway, hope you are feeling better very soon and many thanks for that wonderful colour injection xxxxxxxx PS Monty Don on Friday cheered me up no end!
ReplyDeleteDon't we just! Off to the doctor tomorrow to see what's up. Hope you are feeling better too. I'd love to be in that deux chevaux travelling along those rural country lanes and visiting those wonderful gardens:)
DeleteSorry to hear you're not feeling too good. Hope that you're better soon. Thanks for showing those lovely flowers on this cold and miserable day. They certainly cheered me up!
ReplyDeleteJune
Thanks, June - I thought we needed some colour during these grey days:)
