    1. Thank you RR. It was great to see the Painted Lady, the only one I've seen this summer. The well dressings are wonderful and can be seen in various villages through the late Spring and Summer into early Autumn. Tissingon is usually one of the first, we used to have a junior school trip to see them evey year, Hartington one of the last in early September. It was nice to be out and about for a while:)

    1. Thank you Barbara, have only seen the one Painted Lady this year. Trentham always has a good selection of fungi growing in and around the trees on the lakeside walk. I'm not very good at identifying them:)

  3. What wonderful photos, all so colourful. Those well dressings are so impressive, I suppose they made them especially as a tribute to the Queen as it seems the wrong time of year for them. 😊

  4. Thank you Karen. The well dressings take place across the county on different dates starting May and ending early to mid September, Tissington is one of the first and Hartington one of the last. Their well dressings were meant to be a celebration of the Jubilee but events changed a day before they opened the event on 10th December:)

  7. Lovely September sunshine! Great close up of the Painted Lady butterfly. I don't think I have seen any in my garden this year. The fungus at Trentham Gardens looks a bit like oyster mushrooms. Have a good week Rosie. x
