A quick post today as we have just got back from Wales and there are things to catch up on especially commenting on and visiting all your blogs as well as the normal washing and ironing which results from a week away in a caravan, things like extra towels and bedding.
We popped into the city centre this morning and I was thrilled to see the Waxwings that have been appearing on the local news and on social media over the last week. I hadn't had chance to see them until today.
The paintings, by Sheffield Street artist Faunagraphic, are part of the New Horizons Mural Project.
It is called Abundance
I think the colours are stunning and vibrant against the rather grey background
It is certainly a painting that makes you smile
It's part of Appetite Stoke's Big Fest 15 and you can find it on Bethesda Street in Hanley (the City Centre) opposite the Bethesda Chapel just across the road from the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery.
I think it's wonderful.
Welcome back! The bird painting makes a nice change from the usual graffiti style wall art. I like the detail in the feathers and the iridescent quality to the berries! Have a lovely week ahead Rosie. x
ReplyDeleteThe berries are lovely aren't they? Just like jewels. Hope you have a lovely week too:)
DeleteWonderful street art-hope you catch up soon but weather is not good for washing!
ReplyDeleteThe weather hasn't been great since we got back and I hate wet washing around the house and I don't have a tumble dryer:)
DeleteI think it's beautiful too, such vibrant colors. It would really brighten a rainy day.
ReplyDeleteIt is very cheerful and the colours are gorgeous:)
DeleteVery pretty; and so much easier to catch up with than the real thing. Looking at the weather forecast I'd say you got out of that caravan just in time!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes we had a lovely 5 days with no rain and were very lucky - the rain started as soon as we got home - the one thing about the rain on the caravan is the noise on the roof - nothing quite like it:)
DeleteHow striking! A great mural to cheer you up even in the rain. Have fun :-)
ReplyDeleteWell, the rain stayed away today so the last bit of laundry got dry outside:)
DeleteThose are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThey are aren't they? Don't know how long they will be there:)
DeleteHope you enjoyed your holiday the photos were lovely. So too are the Waxwings - are they really that colour in real life?
ReplyDeleteA bit of artistic license with the colours, Elaine but Waxwings are quite colourful sort of reddish brown with black thraot and eye mask and white and yellow in wings and tail feathers - I'd love to se one:)
DeleteHow interesting, I've never seen a waxwing x
ReplyDeleteNot that colour in reality but very colourful and characterful nevertheless:)
DeleteThese are lovely. Glad you enjoyed your week in Wales.
ReplyDeleteWe were so lucky with the weather. the Waxwings are great aren't they?:)
DeleteIt's gorgeous! I love the left one's expression.
ReplyDeleteHa - it looks as if it's daring me not to take it's photos:)
