The Wanderer Returns

We are back home after a wonderful holiday in which I have overdosed on Cornish harbours and fishing villages

Looe

Polperro

Charlestown
Port Isaac
Boscastle

Travelled back in time.......

Morwellham Quay, Devon

.....and into the future

Eden Project, Cornwall

Been 100ft up above a rainforest

Rainforest Biome - Eden Project

two miles underground.....
George and Charlotte Copper Mine, Morwellham Quay

and relived some childhood memories

Teignmouth to Shaldon Ferry, Devon
Ness Beach, Shaldon, Devon

I'll be back with more tales of those and other places in further posts.  In the meantime there is washing and ironing to be done, lawns to be cut, kind neighbours to thank and disgruntled cats to cuddle; loads of e-mails to read and a pile of post to open plus all your blogs and posts to catch up with.  We also have a problem with the car which started to make a funny noise on the way home.  Hope it will be ok as it is nine years old this year and we've had it from brand new.  Better get cracking - I may be gone some time!

  4. Welcome home Rosie! I love fishing harbours. I went to Looe many years ago and loved it and I would like to go to the 'Doc Martin' resort someday also! Now I will let you catch up with the washing! x

  6. I haven't been to Cornwall for years and years. It's on our list every year, but somehow we always end up going north!
Looking forward to your next posts!

  7. I am lucky enough to live within easy reach of the Ness and Shaldon. The ferry boat's design (apart from the engine, of course!) hasn't changed since Elizabethan times. But I've yet to visit Doc Martin's Portwenn, aka Port Isaac.

  9. Ooh, I forgot to say that when we travelled down to Looe many years ago, the exhaust fell off our Vauxhall Viva whilst going across the Tamar Bridge! x

PS. I hope the noise from your car doesn't call for major work.

  12. You must be a travel show host. I have never met anyone who travels like you do, it must be wonderful to go and go, whenever you like. You see the most interesting places; you might call it on the road again!
I hope the car trouble doesn't sideline you for too long, Rosie!
