A lovely day on Thursday with two cousins, a second cousin various spouses and a dog. Lots of happy chatter and a house full of flowers and cake. Where have all the years gone?
The larger bouquet above has been split into two vases, I'm hoping they last a while.
We'd told everyone about our fox and badger visitors and right on cue Mr Fox appeared much to everyone's delight. He looks a bit concerned because he's not used to there being a dog in this house.
As promised in my last post here are the last two of the ten wallabies on the Where's Wallaby trail I first mentioned here. Not necessarily in the order we found them.
Above is Woody on the woodland walk in Dimmingsdale near Alton. He's painted by Jim Mcshee in collaboration with Tean Youth Club.
Next week we are having a new conservatory roof fitted. We had booked this in before we had the problem with the main house roof which I described in an earlier post. So more noise and dust for the next week or two. Thankfully no scaffolding!
Is anyone else having soaring views on their posts? I've gone from usually no more than a hundred views to more than two thousand five hundred on my last post. I've been told it's 'AI bots.' All a bit worrying. What to do? For the moment keep calm and carry on.
See you in September.
Ah, flowers, cake, visitors and Mr. Fox! Sounds perfect to me.
ReplyDeleteI've had those bot attacks on my blog in the past. Bsck then it was said they came from Russia. As far as I can tell, they dont affect anything. I dont have a clue why it happens or why they do it.
The flowers are still lovely, blogger does strange things at times:)
DeleteOh goodness, I forgot to say happy birthday, Rosie!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Granny Sue. I had a lovely day:)
DeleteWishing you a belated happy birthday Rosie. The flowers and cake are lovely. Hope all goes well with the conservatory roof. I love the final two wallabies :) I haven't checked my viewing figures for ages but probably will now! I do remember in the past when I used to check them I would get spikes in viewing figures too. As far as I know it doesn't affect anything.
ReplyDeleteI've checked Rosie and I too on some days have a lot of visitors to my blog!
DeleteThank you Caroline. The flowers are all still looking lovely, cake gone:) I too hope we don't have any hold ups with the conservatory, I'll be glad when it's all done. I don't very often look at the Stats area but on looking at where the most visits are coming from it's USA, Singapore and Hong Kong:)
DeleteHappy belated birthday, Rosie. The flowers look beautful and your home must be wonderfully scented at the moment. Thank you for sharing all the wallabies, they have been fun to see. How lovely that Mr Fox came to wish you Happy Birthday too. I have had the same thing happening on my post as well but it doesn't seem to have had any bad effects fortunately. It does settle down after a while.
ReplyDeleteHappy September to you, Rosie.
Thank you Beverley, the flowers are still looking lovely, I'm glad you enjoyed the wallabies, it was fun finding them and getting out for fresh air and exercise too. Last evening Mr Fox was disconcerted by the empty conservatory, it's now empty awaiting the roofers:)
DeleteHappy Birthday to you. I can almost smell those flowers from here. Glad you had a lovely day to celebrate. Your fox looks very tame. Yes I’ve had huge numbers too although it often happens when I haven’t posted for a couple of weeks. B x
ReplyDeleteThank you B, the flowers are still fragrant, more lilies have opened over the weekend. Fox dashes off behind the hedge if we go outside, he's very wary of us, but will come close if we are safely inside, I take photos through the kitchen window:)
DeleteHappy, happy birthday! What wonderful flowers and lots of fun with all your relatives, even a fox to join in and celebrate with you! Fingers crossed with the conservatory roof, you'll be glad to get back to normal. I wonder where the wallabies will pop up next! My views are up too, not as much as yours though. You can see which countries they are coming from in the statistics section but AI sounds a probability. 😊
ReplyDeleteThank you CK, it was a different yet lovely day. I hope all goes well with the conservatory roof, I'll be glad when all is done. I did look at the location of visits and they are mostly USA, Singapore and Hong Kong. I dare say all will be well, I hope so:)
DeleteHappy birthday and greetings from a regular reader in the Netherlands! (No AI ;)
ReplyDeleteHello and thank you Wim, how kind of you to leave a comment, thank you for your birthday wishes:)
