Back Home

We've been away for a few days.  We had to go to Paul's uncle's funeral in Scarborough so we decided to turn it into a short break.  We took too many photos, walked lots of steps and saw some wonderful things.  Below are a few images from our four days away.

  1. I am sorry to hear about Paul's uncle but so pleased you managed a few days away in such a lovely area. Mum and Dad used to holiday in Robin's Hood Bay for several years and my son would love to go to Whitby. Look forward to hearing more about it and seeing more photos in later posts :)

    1. Thank you Caroline, it was good to have a few days away. I love Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay. Also Staithes further up the coast. I will write more about individual places later on, we saw so much in the short time we were there:)

  2. Your photos of your time away are varied and lovely. Whitby Abbey looks so stark and austere, as well as impressive. And I loved seeing the bomber in the Canadian Memorial Hangar. Would love to know more about that.

  4. Glad you had a good few days away even if the original reason for going was a funeral. We loved Whitby when we visited. Those beach huts just radiate sunshine don't they. Looking forward to hearing more about your trip away.
    Have a lovely Spring week.

    1. Thank you Beverley. There is something special about Whitby we love it too. The huts were so colourful in the sunshine along the North shore at Scarborough. Not far from the sculpture of Freddie Gilroy:)

  5. Fantastic, it looks like you've had a great time in wonderful weather. Apart from Whitby, I haven't been to any of the other places so I'll look forward to seeing all your photos in due course. The sculpture on the bench looks familiar, maybe I've come across one of his other creations. 😊

    1. Thank you CK, there is so much to see along that coast, so many lovely places running down to the sea. The sculptor does a lot of work in this area, I think I featured his fisherman at Filey a few years ago when we travelled back from Durham:)
