We had a lovely walk in Hem Heath woods this morning hoping that the bluebells would be in flower.
They were!
It was so peaceful and quiet in the woods.
We could hear blackbirds and great tits singing high up in the trees
Crows were cawing and cackling.
Perfection!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I've seen the gorgeous blue bells, in another blog. Always delightful..
✨🌱✨
Thank you WoW, bluebells are a wonderful sight at this time of year:)

ReplyDeleteThank you shazza, your post on the wild galic was lovely, hope you find some bluebells:)
DeleteI love bluebell woods. At our previous house we had them in the garden and could not get rid of them! You thought you had dug every last bulb out but no,back they came. They need to be seen in the right setting eg a wood.
ReplyDeleteThank you Barbara, I've noticed this year that out one clump has spread into different areas, I think self seeded as the flowers are smaller and paler. We have a similar problem with Wood Avens - it would take over the whole garden it we let it:)
DeleteWonderful! There's something so peaceful about a wood full of bluebells. 😊
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen, it's funny as soon as you enter the wood and see the sea of blue you feel calmer and warmer too:)

DeleteIt's bluebell time again! Something I look forward to, but as yet haven't been for a walk in a bluebell wood this year. It looks very peaceful in Hem Heath woods.
ReplyDeleteThank you Lynda, the woods are very peaceful but were once a hive of industry at one time as there was a coal mine there. At the other end of the wood is the Wedgwood factory and museum:)
DeleteI spent a day earlier in the week doing a very similar thing - one of my many favourite times of the year.
ReplyDeleteThank you John, it's a wonderful time of year - I loved your bluebell photos on your last post:)
DeleteAh, lovely scenes!
ReplyDeleteThank you Louise, it's a very pretty wood especially at bluebell time:)
DeleteStunning pictures you captured on your woodland walk. The sound of the birds this spring seems to be so much louder and more vocal than I ever remember.
ReplyDeleteThank you Julie, the birds are very vocal at the moment especially the blackbirds. The bluebells were wonderful under the trees:)
DeleteGorgeous Rosie & something I'd love to see one day, but we rarely seem to be there in May. Have a lovely weekend & take care.
ReplyDeleteThank you Susan, woodlands are always wonderful espeically atthis time of year with the bluebells and wild galic. Hope you too have a lovely weekend:)
DeleteGorgeous, and very uplifting! I was going to add that it's very English but then I remembered that there were lots of bluebells out on Anglesey when I was there the other week. In one wood they were next to plenty of wild garlic and seeing the blue and the white flowers next to each other almost made me swoon. x
ReplyDeleteThank you Mrs T, there is something special about bluebells and when combined with wild garlic they are just wonderful:)
