Winter Trees

Winter Trees
Black branches against a grey sky

Standing in fields
and at the side of the road
So bare

and yet so beautiful

Standing against buildings

In parks by the lake

Looking as cold as we feel and yet sheltering us too

whilst enhancing the view.

Photos taken yesterday in the village of Tissington and the town of Buxton in Derbyshire

  1. Lovely photographs. At least when they are bare we can see through to what's behind!

  4. Those are wonderful photos. I've always been rather fond of winter trees myself. There's something magical about them - with their lives on hold, just waiting to burst into leaf in Spring.

  7. Buxton is such a nice place. Great that the trees had space to have room to spread. :-)

  8. I do like seeing the trees in Winter as your can identify more clearly the varieties from their general shapes and the way the branches grow. Buxton is a beautiful town.
