Busy

The first three days of September have been busy with work on the conservatory taking up to two or three days of each week.  All was completed yesterday and now we are getting back to normal and things are finally finding their homes again.

In between the work and also the rain we've had a couple of days out and about.

When we visit the Peak Wildlife Park we always head straight for the Red Pandas.  There are two sisters Esha and Riya.  They are both gorgeous.

We also always look for the Red Squirrels and this one was spotted scampering about.

I've realised that I'm drawn to 'Red'  animals and our Red Fox garden visitor is always welcome.  Having said that I'm also fond of cats and hares.

A few days ago we visited Little Moreton Hall in our quest to visit all the nearby National Trust properties at least once this year.  We've now done all three local ones.  It's time to venture further afield.

I've taken you to Little Moreton Hall, a moated manor house, many times on this blog, usually for special events at Christmas or Midsummer.

I've added a few more photos of things that caught my eye during our visit which included lunch of a cheese scone in the tiny tea shop.

All for now.  Take care.

  1. It must be a relief to have all the work completed on the conservatory. And now you can get everything back to normal, once more.

    1. Thank you Jules, yes it is a relief that all the work is now done, we still have to put everything back into the conservatory but it's a lot warmer and drier in there. Little Moreton Hall is a favourite place:)

  2. It's great that the conservatory work is all finished and you're getting back to normal! The photos from the wildlife park and Little Moreton Hall are so lovely. It's easy to see why you love the red animals, the red pandas are so cute, and the red squirrel is adorable. It's so cool that you're visiting all the National Trust properties, too.

    1. Thank you Melody, still a few things to move around but things are getting sorted now. I love being able to walk amongst some of the animals especially the squirrels, it's hard to take photos as they move around so quickly:)

    1. Thank you Caroline, I think you would like the Peak Wildlife Park, the animals are so well cared for. I just love the Red Pandas, you can make an appointment to feed them but it is quite expensive, I would love to do it one day. I think I remember you writing about your visit to Little Moreton. It is especially atmospheric at Christmas:)

  5. Ahh Little Morton Hall, what a great place. I can only assume that that is you all dressed up waiting for your cheese scones, which if they are in the photo below, are enormous! What a lovely conservatory, no doubt with a good view of your garden with its foxes and badgers but sadly no red pandas. 😊

    1. Thank you CK, ha ha - yes, the Tudor scones:) We had cheese scones but there was a seasonally flavoured one of Bramley apple crumble which sounded tasty. The fox has shown a wary interest in what was happening in the conservatory:)

  6. The conservatory is beautiful! What a lovely space for bad weather.
I enjoy your photos of the fox. We have them here but they are quite shy and we rarely see one.
I would like to visit Moreyon Hall one day. It looks charming

    1. Thank you Granny Sue. The conservatory is a lot warmer now and rainproof too. It gets the morning sun and we sit in there for coffee breaks and lunchtimes when we are home at the moment the garden furniture is inside and the normal chairs (old Lloyd looms) are still upstairs. I'm sure you would love Little Moreton Hall.

  7. The conservatory looks good Rosie. I hope you can now get to enjoy it again. I like red animals too! The Red Pandas have such sweet little faces. Little Moreton Hall looks so interesting if not a little wavy! Does it have sloping floors? Have a great week. x

    1. Thank you Simone, the whole house feels warmer already:) The Red Pandas are so beautiful and gentle too, an endangered species so each one of them is very special. Yes, everything is 'wavy' inside especially the long gallery at the very top, sloping floors and lop sided fireplaces. You too have a great week:)

  8. The conservatory looks nice - it must be such a relief that the work is done. And I enjoyed the visit to the Hall. I'm not recommending a mystery this time, the greater mystery is what happened to September, how can it almost be over already?

    1. Thank you Amalia, the new roof has made a difference. Glad you enjoyed the Hall. September has gone by so very quickly hasn't it? I have asked for the book you recommended at the library, it looks to be one of a series:)

  9. It must be a relief to have the conservatory back in order before the rainy cold weather arrives. The manor hall is such a beautiful and interesting building. I love visiting places like that, and the tea rooms are always a great place to settle after walking around.
The red animals are all lovely. I've never seen Red Pandas.

    1. Thank you Lorrie, it is nice to have all the work finished, it is so much warmer in the conservatory now. The Red Pandas are lovely and are on the endangered species list. It's always good to find a tea shop for refreshment during a visit:)
