    1. Thanks, Simone - she really longed for the freedom that bike would give her as she used to walk the 4 miles to work and back everyday. She saved up and bought it when she was 21:)

  2. My mum lived from 18th july 1915, to March 11th 2002, and when we went to register the death, discovered that her birth name was Rosie. For all the time I had known her, she was known as Rosina, and I realise that she decided a long time ago that she preferred the longer name. It was touching to see her name written on the certificate as Rosie, it summed up a completely different personality to my way of thinking. However she was blessed to live until her late eighties and share in all our lives and was a real dynamo.. Your mum looks lovely as well, and I salute you both on this Mother's day, knowing how much we both miss our darling mothers who shared the same name!.. all the best J

    1. thank you for your kind words, janzi - isn't it funny how they both wanted to be called something different. My mum was Florence Hilda but from any early age said she wanted to be called Hilda as she didn't want to be called 'Flo' for short of Florence. I'm named Rosalyn (shortened to Ros or Rosie) partly after my granny Rose:)
