Do you remember when we were children we would play 'Let's pretend?'
I feel as if that is what I am doing now but
Oh, how I'd love a garden like this.......
With scented roses near the front door
A little sun catching courtyard to sit in
A garden full of wonderful flowers that would delight through the seasons
Colourful and inviting
a haven for bees
and butterflies
a beautiful gate to a small orchard and kitchen garden
where fruit and vegetables would grow in abundance -
enough to share with family and friends.
A garden full of peace and tranquillity a safe haven for me and the wildlife
I could add a greenhouse, a garden shed and a pond but I mustn't be greedy!
The garden above is a composite from three gardens visited over the last few weeks, at the Trentham Estate, Bridgemere Garden World and Tatton Park. Do you have an ideal garden? What would be in it?
Have a lovely weekend, everyone.
Such beautiful gardens, yes I dream about having one too but my fingers are decidedly more brown than green! I'd love a wildflower meadow filled with pretty flowers and sweet bumblebees . . .
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend,
xx
I'm not really green fingered either, I like to potter a bit but in my dreams I'd have someone come and do all the hard work to keep the garden tidy. A wildlower meadow would be lovely:)
DeleteI play 'let's pretend ' all the time Rosie! Your combined gardens are lovely and I would adore those roses in the first photo in my garden. A babbling brook would be a nice addition too! Have a lovely weekend. x
ReplyDeleteAh, it's good to keep young at heart. Those roses were such a wonderful colour. How lovely to have a stream at the bottom of the garden:)
DeleteI would like a walled garden, with vegetables that slugs and mice leave alone and lots of flowers for cutting. There would be chickens, ducks and geese. And the vision is very fresh in my mind because we visited one such only today!
ReplyDeleteThere is something very special about a walled garden - warm, safe and peaceful. Slug free would be perfect too with loads of flowers to cut to bring into the home - sounds wonderful:)
DeleteI don't have an ideal garden, but your fantasy one sounds very inviting!! Wouldn't it be lovely, thanks for putting it together for us to visit in our imaginations. xx
ReplyDeleteI think that is why I took a little from each garden to create an ideal one - it's nice to dream isn't it?:)
DeleteA lovely collection of photos :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Louise:)
DeleteWow, tis amazingly beautiful! I'd like this one too!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kezzie - glad you liked it:)
DeleteI think you have just about included everything that I would like too - additionally I would like a woodland area a flower meadow and maybe a stream running through an orchard a wild area - the list goes on - we can but dream.
ReplyDeleteOh, so many lovely things and great ideas - a woodland area would be great and a stream too:)
DeleteHi Rosie,
ReplyDeleteFor a moment, I thought that you had found perfection. What a stunning collection of photos. I love that brick shed and a walled garden is the garden of my dreams. You have certainly been to some interesting gardens this year.
Have a great week,
Marie x
There are some lovely gardens around to take inspiration from. I wish I had the talent to create some of these things in our uninspiring plot which we just about manage to keep at least tidy if not inspiring:)
ReplyDeleteLovely to visit again, super post. Love Helen, Darcy, Bingley and Fred xxxx
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to see you here Helen, Darcy and Bingley - now I'm intrigued about Fred but welcome to him too:)
DeleteI play a lot of that pretend game too Rosie. No wonder you love that garden. I love the roses in the first picture. Such a gorgeous colour - I can almost smell them xxx
ReplyDeleteThe colour of those roses is gorgeous isn't it? :)
