Tagged!

I've been tagged by Saphy at  'The Diary of an Unremarkable Woman'  and this is what I have to do-

The Rules
1. Post rules
2. Post 11 things about yourself
3. Answer the questions posed by the one who tagged you
4. Create 11 new questions for the people you tag
5. Go to their blog and tell them they've been tagged.

Eleven things about me

I did seven things about me when I did the Versatile Blogger award post a few weeks ago so some of these will be similar...

I love the theatre
I used to work in Museums
I studied for an OU degree in History and History of Art in my thirties
I have been a Yorkist and Ricardian since I read Josephine Tey's 'The Daughter of Time' when I was 19.
I have bronze, silver and gold medals in disco dancing
I love being near the sea
I love coffee
I love making cakes
I was born in a big city but moved to a small village when I was 6 years old
I have a fear of boathouses and the underside of boats in dry dock
I've been researching my family history since 1988

What Saphy wanted to know about me...

Your favourite place?  -  I have several favourite places but if I had to say it would be somewhere close to the sea.
Your most extravagant purchase?  I've no idea but the most expensive purchases through the last few years have been the houses we've bought and sold.
Chips or Jacket potato?  do I have to make up my mind?  I like both - okay - Jacket potato
Your best holiday?  -  I've had loads of lovely holidays and a few less memorable ones too.  I'd say any holiday by the sea - I have happy memories of childhood holidays in Cornwall and Devon.
Have you broken a bone? No, never - I'm keeping my fingers crossed now!
Town or country?  Again, I like both!  My ideal spot would be a small market town set in wonderful surrounding countryside.
The last time you laughed and why?  Last week I got the giggles over something so silly that I can't even remember what triggered it.
The last time you cried and why?  Last April when my brother-in-law died.
Paint or Wallpaper?  Paint - so much easier (for me anyway)
Cats or Dogs?  Cats!  Although I have a soft spot for collie dogs as we used to have one when I was small.
When you are older will you have cosmetic surgery?  I'm older now and I wouldn't have any kind of surgery unless it was an emergency or life saving operation.

Eleven things I want to ask

Your favourite flower?
The last time you went to the theatre - what did you see?
Tea or coffee?
Favourite film?
What book are you reading now?
Have you ever made your own bread?
When did you last visit a museum?
When did you last visit a big city? (other than your own if you live in one)?
Favourite footwear (sandals, shoes or boots)?
Where in the world do you still want to visit and why?
What makes you happy?

I'm going to break the rules now as I know some people don't like to be tagged.  If you want to join in please do so, take the questions and just let me know if you post about it.

I've updated my family history blog recently as I realised I hadn't written a post on there since November last year - Family Matters.

  1. You are a woman of many parts! How interesting to have worked in a museum.
I just visited your family history blog, so interesting. You're lucky to be able to visit the places your family has lived. We're such gypsies over here, my family has lived all over the country and I've traced parts of it to England, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Netherlands and Switzerland, and of course Mac's family is from Spain, so hunting down the 2 families has been a bit of work.

  2. I'm a Yorkist and Ricardian as well for exactly the same reason as you!
Must take a look at your family history blog - I've been doing a bit on my own family history recently too.

  9. I also have no idea what a Yorkist or a Ricardian are?!

I never would have thought you were a medal winning disco dancer, hehe! Very interesting to read a few facts about you.

  10. Elaine and Louise - it means I'm interested in the period of history during the Wars of the Roses and would support the Yorkists rather than the Lancastrians being a Ricardian means supporting the belief that Richard III, although a man of his times, didn't commit all the crimes that the Tudor historians believed he did:)
