I was wondering where I was going to find February's 'Splash of Colour' until I opened the bedroom curtains this morning and found this wonderful sky behind them.
I know from my childhood the old saying is 'Red sky at night, shepherd's delight; red sky in the morning, shepherd's warning' - well it was where I come from anyway - but this was more a case of 'Red sky in the morning, Rosie's delight' coupled with 'oh good, there is my splash of colour.' I hope no one saw me leaning out of the bedroom window in my sleep shirt - not a pretty sight! I also hope that whoever was out and about early this morning was as entranced by the sky as I was.
I was also thrilled to find out this morning that I have won Simone's recent giveaway over at her wonderful blog - Linden Grove. aren't I lucky? Thank you Simone!

I too witnessed the red sky this morning Rosie. I was also brought up with the saying 'red sky in the morning shepherds warning'. At the moment the sky is a very uninspiring grey!
ReplyDeleteI missed that red sky! Lucky you winning Simones Giveaway. xxxxx
ReplyDeleteSuper photo.I missed it.congrats on winning the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI saw the sky too, mine looked a little different, it was more stripy but I was really happy that I caught a glimpse! Life After Money somewhere in the north also posted a similar photo so it looks like it was a nationwide prety sunrise!
ReplyDeleteI leaned out of the window to take photographs too and made myself a couple of minutes late for work, oops!
Can't believe that it's a morning shot! I've never seen something amazing like that!

I'm another who saw this glorious sky first thing this morning, a short time later there was no sign of the colour just another grey day. Grey day or not I have the memory of those moments of sheer beauty.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful splash of colour and well done you for capturing it so beautifully.
ReplyDeleteI missed the red sky this morning, so am doubly delighted to see it here. Congratulations on your win!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos - yes there's been some great skies recently :) Congrats on the giveaway !
ReplyDeleteWe had that red sky too ... and the shepherds' warning came true. It poured down later. Two wet playtimes in one school day... not good.

Beautiful sky. There has been times when I have run around my garden in my nightie taking photos. Luckily we are not overlooked! Congratulations on winning Simone's giveaway. x
ReplyDeleteWe had a great sunrise this morning, but not as good as yours!

Beautiful sky! I love seeing a sunrise photo...I sometimes catch a sunset, but the sunrise is usually a thing of the past by the time I get around to being interested in anything except my cup of coffee! This is a wonderful photo!
ReplyDeleteI was brought up with that saying as well - great photo.
