Time to make Marmalade

Earlier this week we opened the last jar of marmalade from the batch we made at the beginning of  last year.  So it's time to make some more.....

 Seville Oranges - tick
Sugar - tick
empty jars - tick

OK we're ready to start chopping, shredding and boiling - I'll be back!

  3. I cheated and made marmalade using a tin of oranges from Lakeland ... it was fantastic! I couldn't believe how easy it was. I can't eat toast without marmalade can you?

  4. Simone - the kitchen smells wonderful!:)
Diane - if you like marmalade it will save money to make your own - tastes better too:)
Jenny - it is more like a jam or preserve as it has sliver of fruit in it:)
Abby - nothing better than toast and marmalade:)
Kathy - I have to have only marmalade with toast not jam - jam is for scones:)

  10. I love marmalade. My Dad always used to make it from a big tin think it was called MaMade you can buy it from Sainsbury's it is sort of inbetween making your own and buying it. It was always really good though. Let me know if you try it.

  11. I love marmalade on my toast but have never made my own although my mam used to make marmalade.

  12. I do like marmalade but would rather have it without the peel. My Mum was the complete opposite, she loved the thick cut variety. Looking forward to seeing yours in the jars. x

  13. I can confirm that jam and marmalade made by Rosie and Paul is delicious. The last time that they came with some jam and marmalade to my home, I had to stop my youngest daughter from pinching some, mind you she did take one jar of jam....damson, I think.

  14. Just enjoyed scrolling down through your posts - bringing back happy memories of holidays in Derbyshire (we loved Ilam) and the book on Stoke will be interesting for me too - have seen it recommended elsewhere, so must get it.

  15. I made marmalade for the first time this year, and though it smells heavenly and tastes even better it was by far the messiest jam I've ever made.
