New Year's Day Walk

There is nothing like a long walk on New Year's Day to lift the spirits and work off the lethargy that sets in over Christmas and the holidays. We left the house at 9.45a.m. and by 10.15a.m. we had parked in Ilam Village.

Walk this way

to see the Red deer grazing

The lovely church at Ilam

The River Manifold

The sun was high in the sky

and the hills looked wonderful

and the sheep were enjoying their New Year's Day lunch.

  1. I love these kinds of posts!
It is truly a wonderful thing for you to share your walk with us, I have never been to any of those places and I love seeing those pictures!!

  2. Rosie,

  3. Hi, sissy, I'm here - you are so kind and thoughtful - thanks for missing me :)

Thanks also for your lovely comments about the photos - will be back soon - need some inspiration for writing - Hmm I feel some ideas coming on.
    Take care.

  4. What gorgeous pictures Rosie.
You would never guess they were taken on New Year's day...they look like they could have been taken in the middle of May or even June.

    Happy New Year!!

  5. Thanks, Jen - Happy New Year to you too.
