It's Friday again and I haven't managed a post since last Friday but I did grab my camera when we went on a journey earlier in the week. Below are five things I spotted whilst out and about.
1. Beautiful Sunset - photo taken on the way home, early evening just as the light was fading. Taken through the car window as we were driving along. The sky was exquisitely beautiful there was no way I could fully capture its beauty. The colours were richer and the light more intense; it changed as we rounded each bend and between each click of the camera.
2. Peter Rabbit - straw sculpture of Peter Rabbit at Snugbury's Ice Cream Shop and farm near Nantwich in Cheshire. There is a layby opposite where you can stop to take a photo. Peter is 30ft high, his ears are 10ft long and so is his carrot! Here is a - link - to find out more about the sculpture.
3. Reindeer - at a local garden centre, of course he/she moved just as I had them lined up through the fencing. Ah well, it has carrots, just like Peter Rabbit above!
4. Flowery Car - such a summery looking vehicle to see on a cold December morning. So pretty though and it matched the door of the house behind it. Spotted on the main street in Tarporley in Cheshire.
5. Snowy Owls - part of the Christmas Displays at a local Garden Centre.

A lovely selection of images Rosie. The sunset is stunning and I love the Peter Rabbit sculpture - it must be quite a sight :) My daughter would love the flowery car - she has a thing about VW beetles! I always try and visit a garden centre at this time of year to see the Christmas displays. Popped to a local one last weekend and was well pleased to get a callicarpa in the sale (full of those gorgeous purple berries much loved by blackcaps I believe) for £5! This particular nurseries hadn't got much of a Christmas display but glad I went and found the shrub and had a rather delicious slice of crumble topped apple cake :) Have a lovely weekend :)
ReplyDeleteYou can always rely on garden centres to rustle up a bit of festive cheer. You got a bargain with your plant, I hope it attracts the birds to your garden next year. The car was so pretty, I was imagining what kind of person owns it, I'd probably be completely surprised. You can see Peter Rabbit up on his hill for quite a distance around - he's on the Nantwich to Chester road. Your apple cake sounds delicious. Happy weekend:)
DeleteThe sunset is beautiful and I love Peter Rabbit, what a terrific way to mark 150 years since her birth. It's lovely to see the reindeer and I like the decorations on the car, too.
ReplyDeleteIt is a good way to celebrate isn't it? There were two reindeer in the compound but one was sitting in its shed, they have them every year at that particular garden centre:)
DeleteOh I love Snugbury's ice cream and I have a picture of that very car on my instagram. I hope you enjoyed your day out, Tarporley is such a pretty village, we love going for brunch there on Sundays. Have a great weekend Rosie xx
ReplyDeleteTarporley is very pretty and its was pleasantly busy, it is only the second time we have visited. Your visits for Sunday brunch sound lovely. Thecaris very pretty isn't it? Happy Weekend:)
DeleteYou have captured a stunning sunset. I love the Peter Rabbit sculpture and that car is something else. xx
ReplyDeleteThanks, it was so difficult to get the sunset as there was no where to safely stop the car so I had to take the photo very shakily through the windscreen:)
DeleteWhat a lovely five, beautiful sunset and an amazing Peter Rabbit. Its always nice to see the reindeer and garden centre displays at this time of year. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I always worry that the reindeer seem thin but I think that is natural for them. They seemed contented enough:)
DeleteLovely Five on Friday. I love the Peter Rabbit. What a fun statue! The sunset looks beautiful - I love sunsets. There are such a different array of colours in them.
ReplyDeleteThey have a different statue each year on the hill. I've seen a dinosaur on there and a meercat. It was amazing how quickly the colours and light changed in the sky as we travelled:)
DeleteWhat a fun five. Love Peter Rabbit and the flowery car. Gorgeous colours in that sunset. Have a good weekend. B x
ReplyDeleteThanks, Peter is great isnt he? Have a great weekend:)
DeleteGoodness I thought Peter was the Easter Bunny for a moment, you know how they are always edging us on to the next season! A lovely five, all just a little bit different from the usual. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ha Ha -yes, I guess the Easter eggs and hot cross buns will be in the shops on Boxing Day:)
DeleteI LOVE Snugbury's. Their straw sculptures are amazing. Peter's gorgeous.
ReplyDeletePeter is gorgeous isn't he? Snugbury's ice cream is lovely:)
DeleteWhat great images. I will have to go check out the info about Peter Rabbit, I love discovering things like that. What an unusual car!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting, glad you enjoyed my post. I hope you find the info on Peter Rabbit interesting:)
Deletelovely five on Friday. Maybe as I am trying to get back into blogging more regularly I should join your Five on Friday! I love the sunset, and that giant Peter rabbit!!
ReplyDeletexxx
Thanks, Lyn - do join in with Five on Friday if you have time. Amy puts up a link every week (except holidays) it is fun to do and to visit other blogs too, you don't have to join in every week. Have a lovely weekend:)
DeleteLovely moments from your week. The sunset is beautiful, and I love the cute car, but Peter Rabbit is what does it for me, I love him!!! How adorable - in a giant kind of way! Glad you have had some fun this week!
ReplyDeletePeter is rather gorgeous isn't he? Yes, we have had some happy moments this week. Thanks for visiting Amy and hosting us. Have a lovely weekend:)
DeleteYou saw some unusual things during the week Rosie! I love the Peter Rabbit sculpture! The flowery car is very pretty - I wonder if it belongs to Cath Kidston?! x
ReplyDeleteIt does look like one of her designs doesn't it? Glad you like Peter Rabbit:)
DeleteQuite like your Peter Rabbit and I had no idea that reindeer ate carrots. The owls are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteMe neither - I know people put out a carrot for Rudolph when they leave a Mince Pie for Santa;) The owls are lovely aren't they?:)
DeletePeter Rabbit and the flowery car are fun. Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteThey are great aren't they? Hope you too have a nice weekend Riitta:)
DeleteI can't imagine such an enormous Peter Rabbit! What a feat to create. He'd better be careful or the reindeer might steal his carrots. That's a very beautiful sunset in your top photos. Happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteI think a carrot that size would keep them going for ages! Have a lovely weekend:)
DeleteWell you certainly found some unusual and lovely things to photograph this week. Loved Peter Rabbit.
ReplyDeleteA few different things this week, I'd been wanting to see Peter Rabbit since he was placed therre in the summer and finally got out that way to see him:)
DeleteIn spite of noting Peter Rabbit's size, I would quite like to give him a hug! Thanks for sharing your very interesting five, Rosie.
ReplyDeleteHe does look huggable doesn't he, although I bet we could ony managed to hug one of his legs:)
DeleteWhat a fun post! Who doesn't love Peter Rabbit, Reindeer, Owls and cute flowery cars!
ReplyDeleteCindy
Thanks, Cindy glad you enjoyed the post:)
DeleteI love this Five on Friday Rosie. Peter Rabbit must be quite a sight and hard to miss at 30 feet high. Marie x
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marie. Peter can be seen from quite a distance around:)
DeleteLove that VW. I miss those flowery Beetles. Perhaps there's a return of the Flower Children right around the corner.
ReplyDeleteI'm fascinated by the way you list the books you've read by saving a photo of the cover. I intend to be a copycat next year. Every book I see on the right are books I would choose to read. As a matter of fact, I did read The Summer Before the War, but I think the cover was different. Hmmmmm! Will explore.
Thanks, Patsy. The car is a bit vintage/chic isn't it? I don't put all the books I've read down the side just the special ones. I also do a list on a separate page at the top of the blog:)
