I haven't joined in with Riitta's Flower Wednesday for a while but today I walked through the lovely Cosmos flowers just before the Lakeside Walk at Trentham Gardens and couldn't resist taking photos to share with you. They have been looking stunning for a few weeks now.

Beautiful! On the spot the view must have been adorable - a pink & delicate fairytale world!
ReplyDeleteYes, it was lovely as the flowers were nearly as tall as us:)
DeleteThey are indeed beautiful, what a lovely stroll.
ReplyDeleteIt was a lovely stroll and a gorgeous day:)
DeleteOh---drowning in envy: within walking distance of Trentham - it takes us 9 hours there and back - and I am not talking walkies :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, that is a long way but it sounds as if you have traveled that time before so I'm guessing you have visited the gardens?:)
DeleteI would love to walk along the path towards the lake through that magical mass of cosmos flowers.
ReplyDeleteIt is quite magical Linda, I think you would love it:)
DeleteThanks for sharing Rosie. You have taken beautiful photographs! I want to grow cosmos flowers in my garden now! x
ReplyDeleteWe have grown them a couple of times once from seed and once wecoungt a coupl of plants but they never reached the height of these and the sheer numbers makes them look so wonderful. I guess they will come back next year if they re-seed theselves as they are annuals:)
DeleteAren't they beautiful. My Dad used to give me some every year. :-)
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful aren't they?:)
DeleteThey are lovely. Cosmos is always a 'must' each year in my garden.
ReplyDeleteThe are very pretty and seem to flower for a long time too:)
DeleteThere is nothing like cosmos for a good show.My 11 year old granddaughter is doing a Triathlon at Trentham Gardens next Sunday.Hope the water isn't too cold or dirty!!
ReplyDeleteGosh, are the participants swimming in the lake itself? Perhaps there is another venue. I did notice that new pontoons are being built at the moment, perhaps for this purpose? The lake is full of weeds which are being cleared by the look of the piles waiting to be collected at the side of the lake - just in the area of the new pontoon:)
DeleteThey look gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThe are gorgeous and quite magical:)
DeleteCosmos are one of my all-time favourite flowers, but since they're an annual I rarely plant them. You captured these flowers beautifully! I love how they seem to float among the stalks.
ReplyDeleteWendy
I've never seen so many all together and it does make for a wonderful display:)
DeleteBeautiful photos Rosie - they look so lovely en masse. We started to grow them a few year's back and now plant some every year - the bees and hoverflies just adore them. They've been late getting going this year but are now looking lovely :)
ReplyDeleteThey do look wonderful and they were buzzing with insects too. We had them in our garden for a couple of years but haven't had any for the last two, I must plant some again next year:)
DeleteThese are gorgeous Rosie. I love Cosmos. They look so airy and delicate and they come in such happy colours. Marie x
ReplyDeleteThey are a cheerful sight aren't they?:)
