Pink

I love these blossom trees

The sheer blowsy magic of them

After the last few dark and uncertain days

They were bright, cheerful and full of hope

I'm sure that underneath they felt warmer too

Beneath their overloaded boughs it felt safe and secure

I felt detached from the  myriad of unsettling thoughts in my mind

The sun was gently peering through the pink blooms

Making me feel glad to be alive - easing, for just a short while, the helplessness and concern I've felt for what the future might hold.

No matter what happens we will still have beauty in the world to ease our cares and enrich our minds.

  1. Sorry Rosie you've lost me - what are you concerned about - have I missed something. The blossom is wonderful what a beautiful avenue of colour.

    1. The blossom is lovely at the moment isn't it? Just concerned about things I have no control over but I'll get over it I daresay:)

  3. Don't worry about the future Rosie. All we can do is live the best we can day by day. Surprisingly, in the last few days I have found people to be considerably kinder when I have been out shopping. Being kind to one another is one of the best things we can do. The worst thing would be for people to be pitted against one another across the country because of our political allegiances. The pink blossom tree looks divine right now and will do again. x

    1. Yes we will always have beauty in the world - I hope. I have noticed people have been more reflective recently so perhaps all will be well and we won't split the UK or leave the EU. I can only keep my fingers crossed:)

  4. Lovely photos :) I am going to assume (hope!) your concern for the future relates to current political affairs rather than to do with you/P individually!

    1. Yes, mostly Louise - I fear for the country if we leave the EU - perhaps I'm silly to do so but that is how I feel at the moment so the prospect of a referendum worries me greatly. On a personal note my tinnitus is driving me crazy at the moment so that makes me nervy too, anyway onwards and upwards it's not the end of the world:)

  8. Beneath the canopy of such beauty it is wonderful to escape from things that trouble the soul.
Perhaps you can linger near such beauty more often and let yourself feel free of worry.

  10. I'm glad that your worries only relate to the political hoo har - you had me really worried for a while. Concentrate on enjoying the beauty all around you - everyday. History has taught me that whilst things change in major ways, nothing really changes. Stay positive my friend xxxxx

    1. I'll try dear friend - just feeling my age a bit over the last few weeks. All we can do is look for and appreciate the beauty around us which can be found in all things if we search. All will be well:)

    1. Ah, thank you - nice to know I'm not the only one with these concerns - I always think the pink blossoms are sort of over the top and blowsy - like the floppy peonies and poppies in June:)

  14. Yes they are such a show off type of tree and I love them. The recent wind round here has blown lots of our blossom off though which is a shame. xxx
