Let's Pretend

Do you remember when we were children we would play 'Let's pretend?'
I feel as if that is what I am doing now but
Oh, how I'd love a garden like this.......

With scented roses near the front door

A little sun catching courtyard to sit in

A garden full of wonderful flowers that would delight through the seasons

 Colourful and inviting

 a haven for bees

 and butterflies

a beautiful gate to a small orchard and kitchen garden

where fruit and vegetables would grow in abundance -

enough to share with family and friends.

A garden full of peace and tranquillity a safe haven for me and the wildlife

I could add a greenhouse, a garden shed and a pond but I mustn't be greedy!

The garden above is a composite from three gardens visited over the last few weeks, at the Trentham Estate, Bridgemere Garden World and Tatton Park.  Do you have an ideal garden?  What would be in it?

Have a lovely weekend, everyone.

  1. Such beautiful gardens, yes I dream about having one too but my fingers are decidedly more brown than green! I'd love a wildflower meadow filled with pretty flowers and sweet bumblebees . . .
    Happy weekend,
    xx

    1. I'm not really green fingered either, I like to potter a bit but in my dreams I'd have someone come and do all the hard work to keep the garden tidy. A wildlower meadow would be lovely:)

    1. Ah, it's good to keep young at heart. Those roses were such a wonderful colour. How lovely to have a stream at the bottom of the garden:)

  3. I would like a walled garden, with vegetables that slugs and mice leave alone and lots of flowers for cutting. There would be chickens, ducks and geese. And the vision is very fresh in my mind because we visited one such only today!

    1. There is something very special about a walled garden - warm, safe and peaceful. Slug free would be perfect too with loads of flowers to cut to bring into the home - sounds wonderful:)

    1. I think that is why I took a little from each garden to create an ideal one - it's nice to dream isn't it?:)

  8. Hi Rosie,

For a moment, I thought that you had found perfection. What a stunning collection of photos. I love that brick shed and a walled garden is the garden of my dreams. You have certainly been to some interesting gardens this year.

    Have a great week,

    Marie x

  9. There are some lovely gardens around to take inspiration from. I wish I had the talent to create some of these things in our uninspiring plot which we just about manage to keep at least tidy if not inspiring:)
