Ah to see the sea. How I know that feeling. The pics capture your text to perfection. I fantasise about creating Nottingham-on-Sea by cutting us adrift along the line of the Trent and Trent Bridge would be where ferries arrived and departed. The width of the Irish Sea would suffice. In a meantime once the days cool down I feel a visit to my daughter Alicia’s ‘Happy Place’ coming on - Mablethorpe.
Nottingham by the sea would be perfect for you, everything you love in one place. I hope you can visit Mablethorpe soon. I have a photo taken there when I was about 7 or 8, I'll send it to you - the 50s fashions by the sea are very funny:)
Lovely photos of your getaway. We've been away for two weeks, on our little boat. The sea is a wonderful, relaxing escape. You sound refreshed from your few days away.
Welcome back! Lovely photos - it looks idyllic and so peaceful and relaxing wherever you were. The garden in the top photo is beautiful. Have a lovely weekend and so pleased you enjoyed your break.
There was an event near me recently called 'Halifax by the Sea'. I saw the notices but it was too late to go. Halifax is a long way from the sea so it was a bit tantalising to see the notice. Bringing the seaside to towns seems a fun idea . . . but there's nothing like the smell of the real thing.
Thank you Lucy, it always seems a fun thing for the summer holidays to bring the beach inland - but you are right nothing can compare with that salty, seaweedy smell in the air:)
I'm glad you were able to get away to somewhere so idyllic. There's nothing better than a change of scene with the opportunity to relax and do the things you both enjoy.
Thank you Barbara, we are lucky our neighbour is used to animals in particular elderly ones so she can cope with Max for a few days, I wouldn't want to leave him for more than three or four days as he is very hard work to keep clean and tidy:)
It looks wonderful Rosie! I hope I get to see the sea this year. Wherever you went it looks beautiful. Have a lovely weekend. x
ReplyDeleteThank you Simone, I hope you get to see the sea too:)
