Last winter I has mistle thrushes, redwings and fieldfares around a lot but song thrushes were thin on the ground. I do see and hear them regularly in Ecclesall Woods though.Rowanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13679130612798888266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11621908.post-57846788155118745072011-11-06T09:22:49.096+00:002011-11-06T09:22:49.096+00:00Lovely photo. I was all for hanging a feeder outside until my husband mentioned that he had seen two of the neighbourhood cats wandering across the garden with birds in their mouths! I suppose that I will just have to appreciate the birds from a distance.

Lovely photo Rosie. I hope that your thrush is a frequent visitor to your garden.

Marie xAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11621908.post-51898637270821057382011-11-04T08:01:57.581+00:002011-11-04T08:01:57.581+00:00I'm envious! Sadly, his favourite tree was cut down by new owners of the house over the way.

You are so lucky to have him Rosie. We had some (probably two) during the bad snow last year, and they stayed for several days. I felt blessed to be able to watch them. As a child, I used to enjoy watching them break open the snails on a particular stone in my parent's garden.Hhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13357761230206692089noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11621908.post-59114921412580735032011-11-02T19:58:51.621+00:002011-11-02T19:58:51.621+00:00I'm with Simone ... it's a lovely photo, b...I'm with Simone ... it's a lovely photo, but I've no idea what sort of thrush it is. I'm better at finches.

We have three cats so I worry if I see birds near our garden. Which is a shame - but I can't have everything.

I shall enjoy your wildlife instead because photos like that are almost as good as the real thing.MorningAJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04719744167307369768noreply@blogger.com
