We left Leicester when I was six years old but I do visit when I can, I did my studies for the Museum's Diploma at Leicester Uni:)Rosiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04733563829902335223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11621908.post-58354530685384718332018-11-04T23:34:38.656+00:002018-11-04T23:34:38.656+00:00Hello Rosie, I've just found your blog and am ...Hello Rosie, I've just found your blog and am enjoying reading it. Like you, I'm from the Midlands. I live in Staffordshire, near Cannock Chase, and I went to University in Leicester. I've also enjoyed walking in Derbyshire. So, I cross over with you geographically a little bit! You love your garden, I can see, and your plants are impressive. Lovely colours, and the anecdote about the robin made me smile - they are bold little birds. :)Jacquihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17854013276680211479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11621908.post-31629895555634412142018-10-29T08:49:02.070+00:002018-10-29T08:49:02.070+00:00Thank you Marie, I have a huge box full of photos ...Thank you Marie, I have a huge box full of photos large and small. I love the old sepia ones even though I'm not sure of the identity of some of the people in them, they tell us so much about what life was like, especially the less formal ones. I have Sedum Autumn Joy, which I planted in the spring and the colour is absolutely stunning. I’m looking forward to reading the latest Stephen Booth novel as soon as I can get my hands on a copy - I love this series, though I’m not as familiar with the Peak District as you. You have quite a collection of family photographs to treasure - each a moment in time captured by the click of a shutter. While we were visiting we heard about lots of unwanted children that were adopted by Canadian families because their British families couldn’t afford to keep them. So sad. It was lovely to see the Red Admiral as most of the butterly visitors this year have been white ones which seem to prefer the Verbena Bonarensis to the Sedum. The first Cooper and Fry novel is Back Dog if you want to try one and follow on with the others. There must be getting towards twenty of them now. Perhaps you can copy the photos in the locket if you can't keep it. I hope you are able to identify some of the photos and slides you found. It is hard sorting through belongings and lowers the spirits too. Lovely to see a Red Admiral on your sedums - I rarely ever see butterflies on mine - they seem to prefer the michaelmas daisies!

The fox biscuits are SO cute and look delicious as do the chickpea fritters :) I will check out the Stephen Booth books - I have loved so many of the authors I have found on your book lists :)

Family photos always bring family trees to life. Sorting through stuff at my mum's I have found dozens and dozens of boxes of transparencies (slides) - which I suspect I will bring home and spend hours going through and last weekend I did finally find the photos I remember Dad having from his side of the family. Sadly, most of those are not labelled but I may recognise some of them I hope. Also found a gold locket in mum's jewellery with two mini portraits. If my brother doesn't want it I am hoping to bring that home.

Have a lovely weekend.Ragged Robinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14090463834740346114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11621908.post-83106710812964138262018-10-05T16:02:04.944+01:002018-10-05T16:02:04.944+01:00I love your gingerbread foxes Rosie - very cute!
